PLEASE.....JUST ONE MORE WEBPAGE TO GRACE THE INTERNET!!

Great view of Basin and Range topography surrounding Las Vegas.

Just an image to show you who you're reading about. Born in August of 1968, I have accomplished quite a few things in my lifetime; as short as it's been! Living in Hawai'i, travelling into Mexico to play soccer, travelling through Europe, and mountain biking and climbing in the Southwest. In fact, if the activity has anything to do with the outdoors, chances are I've done it, or want to do it! Recently, I have graduated from Texas Christian University in Ft. Worth, Texas with a Bachelor's degree in Geology. Wow! What a great study program! The program here offers a unique perspective on geology, by offering a study abroad class in Scotland, where it all began. The class, titled TCU-in-Scotland, offers a multi-disciplinary program emphasizing the study of the Scottish Enlightenment, its founders, their work, and the far reaching ideals that the Enlightenment played in developing the geological paradigms present today. Also studied are the religious underpinnings during that time, and how religion affected the prevailing thoughts of that time. Creativity, especially in Robert Burns and Rennie McIntosh were studied, as well as the design of buildings, both interior and exterior, by the famed architect Robert(?) Adams. In fact, there's is so much that was covered on the trip, that I couldn't possibly describe it all here. If you look closely you may even see me in some of the pictures.

About me...
Born in upstate New York.
Lived on the East coast until 1977.
Currently a living in Colorado, albeit for a short 3 1/2 years for schooling.
As an avid mountain biker, I find Texas a little, how shall I say it, FLAT! Even down in the Hill Country around Austin, I still find myself craving a four mile uphill section! But I guess that's what makes living away from home special...you learn to appreciate what you've got when you're there!
Recently, I've gotten into to backpacking, or at least the best I can get into it here! I haven't done anything too exciting in terms of where I've been, but my desire is there. I need to keep in mind that even backpacking can be dangerous! But what a great way to study geology!!

Some of my Travels...
Two years ago, I had the opportunity to travel thruogh Europe by train and foot, and spend three weeks studying geology in Scotland. It was the trip of a lifetime (at least until I get to go to Africa), that began in the U.K.,through Italy,Germany,Switzerland and ending in Scotland.

My little bing bong is seen here holding up a piece of popcorn carbonate deposit that she found in the karst topography of southwestern Oklahoma. Cute, huh?!
She had actually climbed down into this small cave system to do some exploring. Although the cave was contained in an area less than an acre, it still provided for some unconventional exploring!
At five feet tall, she makes the cave appear quite large. Or maybe the cave makes her appear quite small! I still haven't figured it out yet!
