Alaska
Why is the ice blue?
Crystals of glacial ice are so dense that few cracks or air bubbles exist
to reflect light. Ice crystals in the glacier reflect only the short blue
wavelengths of light and absorb wavelengths of other visible colors. Therefore,
the ice appears blue.
