Hi, my name is Chris Mabe and I am currently studying to be an Environmental Earth Resources major at Texas Christian University. This program is sort of a mixture of geology and environmental science and is headed by the geology department. I have been interested in both of these things since I was a little kid. I started my rock collection when I was about 5 years old. When I first started college I was a business major. But, after taking a geology intro course the summer after my freshman year, I decided to do something geared more in that direction. My mom began working in this department after my first semester and informed me a little about the program.

This is my third year at TCU. I graduated from Burleson High School in Burleson, Texas in 1999. I've been at TCU ever since. In high school, I played football, basketball, baseball, and was a member of the debate team. My extracurricular activities have changed a little since graduation. A few times a year, I play with a "band" at geology department functions in which I play drums and sing. This band is composed of myself, Dr. Morgan, Dr. Slattery, my dad, and some of the graduate students. I also play guitar. Last fall, I went on a field trip with my environmental geology class to Big Bend National Park in south Texas. There is a lot of great geology to be studied there. I really found this trip to be interesting and fun. I would recommend everyone to go there at least once if you are into that sort of thing. Unlike most of the students at my school, I still live at home in Burleson, Texas. You can check out the link to see why so many people aren't visiting there. If you have any questions, I probably won't be able to answer them. But, feel free to e-mail me anyway.

This is where we camped at Pitcock Ranch in Big Bend.
