My box is located in the main Geology Office on the 1st floor of SWR, room 207.
The geology office phone is 257-7270.
Office Hours:
Wednesday 3:30-4pm and 8-8:30pm, or by appointment at other times.
Grades will be assigned as follows:
100-90% = A
90-80% = B
80-70% = C
70-60% = D
Below 60 = F
Grades are weighted as follows:
QUIZZES - 33.3%
MIDTERM - 33.3% The final Lab grade counts as 25% of your total class grade.
FINAL - 33.3%
There will be an in-class quiz each week at the end of the lab period, one mid-term exam and one NON -CUMULATIVE final exam at the end of the lab course.
In all, ten quiz grades will be recorded, with the lowest quiz grade dropped.
ATTENDANCE POLICY:
Only official University excused absences will be excepted.
If there is an unexcused absence, that day's quiz grade, ZERO, will NOT be dropped and will be averaged in.
Also, be prompt to lab! Each lab is involved and in order to finish in the time allotted, everybody needs to be here on time. Chronic latecomers will be counted as absent, no exceptions.
You are expected to come to lab ready to complete the tasks set before you in the allotted 2 hours of lab time.
I expect to have fun teaching this lab and you should have fun taking it if we come in and get the job done.
