Geology Lab Rules - Computer Lab

There will be a mantadory seating chart created the first lab of the semester. There should be a maximum of 2 people per computer.
The computer to which you are assigned is your responsibility; the computers are checked after each lab for defacement, if your computer is defaced, you will be held responsible.

There is to be absolutely no eating or drinking in the computer lab whatsoever. There is a trash can by the door, deposits are welcome.

Do not use the computer unless told to do so by the lab instructor. Playing on the Internet or using programs other than those associated with the current lab is prohibited.

Do not write on, dirty, deface, or vandalize the computers in any way. If the computer malfunctions, tell the TA immediately.

Never turn the monitors off or on. The monitors should always show a green light if active, or an amber light if asleep. No light means the monitor is off; this should not occur.

Never reboot your computer short of a freeze-up, and always let your lab TA know when this occurs.

If a particular lab does not call for computers then the computers should remain shut down the entire lab period. No students may use the computers unless they specifically request time to review instructional material.

At the end of each computer session before you leave, make sure the Apple desktop is in view and all other programs are closed.
