THE LEVEL OF EROSION:

Dear Geoneophytes,

Please realize that erosion often times removes much of the tangible evidence of our planet’s history. Hence we must buttress our reason with imagination in order to come to an interpretation. From the simple ground plan at St Monans we can infer the one time existence and subsequent removal of a volcanoe. We learn that the record of the rocks that is presented to us by erosion is at many different levels.
