Graduate Students

The final hurdle for Graduate Students in an MS program is the thesis. At TCU this involves a piece of independent work that is recorded as 6 hours credit (out of the 30 required for the degree). As thesis supervisor, it is my job to impart an element of realism by making sure that the research remains focussed. Part of my commitment is to make sure that theses are completed in a timely fashion. This means that I help in the design of the project, including details of the approach, a timetable for operations and a sensible budget. Subsequently I help in analysis and interpretation and of course in manuscript production. Candidly this is one of the most enjoyable parts of my job as a university professor. Most of the theses that I have supervised involve a substantial element of field work. The scope of the problems is broad: a variety of carbonates, siliciclastics, the Old Red Sandstone of Scotland, various structural problems etc. Quite obviously I love to work in southern Oklahoma!!

The following theses have been or will be completed under my supervision.
